Meyercord Tax Stamping Equipment will be exhibiting at booth number 212 during the Southern Association of Wholesale Distributors Annual Meeting and Exposition on June 18 and 19 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, KY.  This year we will be showcasing our new MTS-110 Manual “Wide” Stamping Machine.  This new manual tax stamping machine not only automates the stamping process for a cleaner and more efficient application, but also quickly switches between standard A-type and J-type (most commonly used on Camel Wides) stamp rolls.

Economic Stimulus Plan Can Help With Capital Purchases

Congress recently extended the 2008 Economic Stimulus Act through all of 2009 for new capital purchases. This allows for additional first-year depreciation of 50 percent of purchase cost to help businesses buy equipment and save on their tax bill.

March 26, 2008 Economic Stimulus Package Benefits Meyercord Customers

Meyercord wants to alert all of its customers to the potential benefits of the recently-passed “Economic Stimulus Package”.  The law contains provisions that support capital investment which include all forms of stamping machinery.

  • Companies that purchase less than $800,000 worth of capital assets in a year can expense the first $250,000 of capital investments made in 2008.
  • Our customers may be able to take the first-year bonus/accelerated depreciation – 50 percent of the cost of the investment (the remainder can be depreciated under regular depreciation rules).  To qualify, the equipment must be purchased and placed into service in 2008.
  • Small companies can take advantage of the $250,000 deduction as well as the 50 percent expensing allowance.
